There will be just two minutes added on at the end of this match.
88'
D. Klaassen gets yellow.
This is bad news for Ajax as Klaassen is booked for his protests, meaning he will be suspended for the return leg! Veltman and Sanchez will be back, but they will be without the skipper.
GOAL NOT GIVEN! Klaassen heads a corner back into the danger area from the far post, where Dolberg rises to meet it. The striker gets over Matic to head it in, but the referee claims he committed a foul! It's a tight decision and you can see the claims from both sides.
87'
PENALTY APPEALS DENIED! Ajax relentless in their protests, but they don't have a strong case here as Klaassen's effort was blocked by the foot of Johansson before bouncing off his bicep. That would have been very harsh.
85'
CRUCIAL STOP! Klaassen has come to Ajax's rescue time and time again this season, but the skipper can't find the back of the net on this occasion, denied brilliantly by Olsen after doing well to orchestrate an opening for himself on the edge of the box!
83'
Ajax's threat has all but gone away in the last 15 minutes. Tired legs seem to be setting into the team as they struggle to advance the ball up the pitch and ask questions of this Copenhagen defence. The visitors' drop in quality over the course of this second half has been surprising.
81'
Copenhagen have already shown the threat they can pose from these long throws from Kvist. This one is cleared by Ajax, but only as far as Kvist, who followed his throw in towards the area, but he can't catch Onana out from a tight angle.
79'
STAT: Hakim Ziyech ranks first in shots (111), chances created (94) and assists (10) for Ajax in all competitions this season.
77'
L. Schöne gets yellow.
David Neres enters the game and replaces B. Traoré.
H. Ziyech enters the game and replaces D. van de Beek.
January signing David Neres, the young Brazilian penomenon, comes on for his Europa League debut, replacing Traore.
Double change here from Ajax, both positive ones. The always creative Hakim Ziyech replaces Van de Beek in the first.
Schone with a cynical challenge to halt a break and that will see him into the book.
75'
The losses of Joel Veltman and Davinson Sanchez through suspension is are proving costly for Ajax tonight. Their backline has had some less than flattering moments without their two core defenders, and they've struggled from set pieces without the threat of Sanchez in the air.
Minute
Description
73'
Copenhagen are doing a much better job here of playing with the lead than they did early on after the 1-0. They're not allowing Ajax to generate any momentum, working hard to limit their space on the ball. Meanwhile, we have a stoppage here as Cornelius and Viergever require attention following a clash of heads.
71'
K. Tete gets yellow.
Kenny Tete, no stranger to a yellow card, goes into the referee's book here for a foul on Johansson, just as the match progresses into the final 20 minutes.
69'
HE CAN'T MEET IT! Augustinsson sends a low, diagonal ball in towards the far post that breaches the Ajax defence. Pavlovic sprints on to meet it, but he just can't get the decisive touch at the far post!
67'
Ajax have lost their swagger a bit since conceding the second, as they're spending less time on the ball than they have come accustomed to. If the scorline remains the same, it will be perfectly in the balance for the return leg in Amsterdam, but another goal either way will tip the scales heavily.
65'
N. Viergever gets yellow.
STAT: This is Copenhagen’s first appearance in the knockout stage of European competition since the 2010/11 Champions League, losing to Chelsea in the last-16.
Viergever becomes the second player booked on the evening, one for each side.
63'
A. Pavlović enters the game and replaces F. Santander.
The first change of the night is made here by the hosts and it sees Andrija Pavlovic replace Santander.
61'
Ajax's lengthy unbeaten run in the contest is under threat once again, but that goal has come entirely against the run of play, it must be said. They need to continue attacking they way they were and avoid opening up unnecessarily - 2-1 away is not a bad result for them.
59'
A. Cornelius has scored a goal for FC Copenhagen! Assist by P. Ankersen.
COPENHAGEN BACK IN FRONT! They've been coming under all sorts of pressure, but all it takes is one chance at the other end for them to restore their lead! Ankersen picks out a towering cross and Jorgensen rises higher than De Ligt to bundle home a thumping header!
Good delivery at the end of an inquisitive run from Ankersen.
58'
FINALLY ON TARGET! Van de Beek has had a number of shooting chances tonight, but has yet to test Olsen... until now. This one was perhaps the hardest chance of all from a tight angle, but he works the keeper, who fumbles the strike behind for a corner.
56'
Copenhagen possession breaks down just inside the Ajax half and Dolberg breaks with pace and determination, before being tripped up rather cynically from behind by Johansson. The free-kick is awarded without hesitation, but the centre-half escapes without a booking.
54'
STAT: Ajax have never lost a European match in Denmark (W1, D2) and Copenhagen have never beaten Dutch opposition at the Parken (D2, L1).
52'
JORGENSEN TO THE RESCUE! Copenhagen carved apart like a hot knife through butter by Traore. He shows great strength and vision to get into the final third and play in Van de Beek, but Jorgensen sprints across and deflects his effort behind from point-blank range!
50'
He got that all wrong! Schone has been one of Ajax's most reliable scorers in Europe over the last few years, and you know he wants to find the back of the net tonight in the city he was born in. He gets a decent look from 25 yards out, but slices an effort miles wide of the far post with his weaker left foot.
48'
Copenhagen are struggling to relieve the pressure on their goal as Ajax ramp up the intensity early in this second half. They're looking a threat as they get forward in numbers, particularly down the left flank through the wonderfully adventurous Younes.
46'
Back underway in Copenhagen!
45' +1
HALF-TIME: COPENHAGEN 1-1 AJAX.
45'
ANOTHER STUNNING RUN! Younes is taking the game over here! Remarkable skill on the ball from the winger, who this time beats three Copenhagen defenders, but again he unselfishly squares for Van de Beek instead of having a go himself, and the midfielder can't pick out the bottom corner.
43'
VITAL BLOCK! That's a delightful run from Younes, who dazzles his way beyond a pair of defenders on the edge of the box before squaring for Van de Beek, but the midfielder takes a touch before shooting, which allows Ankersen to dive across and get a crucial block in!
41'
IT'S IN! But it won't count... The ball is lifted into the area and falls for Falk, who produces another exceptional first-time finish, but the offside flag is raised, mush to Ajax's relief.
40'
The tempo has fizzled out a fair bit as we approach half-time. Neither side want to be the one to concede the all-important second goal, and as a result it's plagued the tempo a bit here.
38'
STAT: Ajax are the only unbeaten team remaining in the Europa League proper this season (W5, D3). They have gone 11 successive Europa League games without defeat, four shy of Atletico Madrid’s record.
36'
Ajax in complete control since scoring, dominating possession and dictating the tempo. They needed that goal like a dog needs a bone, and they got it. That will go a way to boost their confidence, not to mention their odds of progressing through to the quarter-finals.
34'
The Parken has been stunned into silence. They aren't used to seeing their side concede here. Copenhagen have kept seven clean sheets from seven in Europe this season, but their run ends here, and it's one of their hometown boys who's done it in the form of Dolberg! Now it's the away fans who have been sent into rapture.
32'
K. Dolberg has scored a goal for Ajax! Assist by D. Klaassen.
Klaassen picked him out brilliantly there as the skipper provides the assist.
DOLBERG RESTORES PARITY! That will mean the world to him! Left out of Denmark's international squad, Dolberg returns to his native country and scores the first goal at this venue by an opposing team this season in Europe! He gets in front of Ankersen in the area to latch onto Klaassen's cross and guides a lovely finish in at the far post!
31'
NOT FAR AWAY! Good overlapping run from Tete, who picks out Sinkgraven with his cross, but the left-back sees his shot blocked again. The rebound falls for Klaassen, but he can't find the target either, missing at the far post.
29'
HE'S MISSED IT! Ajax continue to play with fire at the back, this time Viergever giving the ball away carelessly - the third one of this first half. It comes straight to Santander, who drives forward and strikes for goal, but can't slot in at the far post, with Cornelius upset he didn't get played through.
27'
Back the other way come Ajax, winning a corner. Again they play it short, as they have with each one previous. It's smartly worked over to Sinkgraven atop the box, but his effort is blocked!
25'
SHOULD BE TWO! Kvist's throw causes all sorts of panic in the Ajax penalty area and it falls to an unmarked Toutouh at the far post, but somehow he fails to strike it cleanly, sending it wide! He had half the goal gaping!
23'
STAT: Copenhagen have kept 13 successive clean sheets at the Parken, last conceding in a 1-1 draw with Aalborg.
21'
M. Jørgensen gets yellow.
That's a nasty challenge from Copenhagen centre-half Jorgensen, who slides into the back of Dolberg to cease his run. The yellow is unavoidably produced, meaning the skipper will be suspended for the return leg in Amsterdam.
19'
Copenhagen have weathered the storm following a spirited response from Ajax to try and restore parity. They win a free-kick in an advanced position, but the delivery has far too much height on it, allowing Ajax to defend it with ease.
17'
SMART STOP! Another giveaway at the back, this one incredibly careless from Traore, gifts ex-Eredivisie player Matic a shooting chance, but he's thwarted at the near post by Onana.
15'
Ceaseless possession and pressure from Ajax, who are really taking the game to the hosts here. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, though, and that's no doubt sparking Copenhagen's energy levels. It's deafening inside the Parken.
13'
Successive corners for Ajax help them keep the pressure on, and it results in their first chance of the night. The ball bounces into the path of Viergever in the area following a clever touch from Traore, but the centre-half's volley is struck right at Olsen. Moments later, another Ajax attack sees them win a third corner without reply.
11'
STAT: This is the fifth meeting between the two sides in European competition. Copenhagen hold the edge, winning twice, drawing once and losing once, but they have yet to win at home to Ajax (D1, L1), with both victories coming in Amsterdam.
9'
STRAIGHT AT ONANA! A nice opening there for Copenhagen, and there should be plenty more of those as Ajax are forced to open up a bit. The break falls for Cornelius, but he can't get any real power behind his strike as it makes for a comfortable save for Onana in the end.
7'
In all fairness for Ajax, they have responded well to falling behind, commanding plenty of the ball in these early stages. Peter Bosz is understandably anxious on his touchline, however, shouting instructions as his side try to get after this stingy backline.
5'
Ajax enjoying plenty of possession here, but it's all contemplative at best as they struggle to break into the final third. This is a defensively stout Copenhagen side, who will look more like a brick wall at the back for Ajax as they search for that away goal.
3'
This stadium is already hard enough to play in, but that early goal has resulted in an absolutely electrifying atmosphere! It could not have been a worse start for Ajax, who have their work cut out for them now against a Copenhagen side who have not conceded at this venue in over six months.
1'
R. Falk has scored a goal for FC Copenhagen! Assist by W. Kvist.
AND THEY'RE OFF! Copenhagen in all white as they get us underway, attacking left to right, with Ajax in black.
DREAM START FOR THE HOSTS! It took all of 27 seconds for Copenhagen to take the lead, and Ajax are left stunned! A giveaway at the back from Van de Beek gifts the hosts possession and Kvist lifts a clever ball over the top for Falk, who finishes expertly with a thunderbolt past Onana and in at the far post!
Delicate and accurate chip over the top from Kvist who picks up the assist.
Despite losing just once in the Champions League group stage, Copenhagen finished third and were relegated to the Europa League, where they defeated Ludogorets 2-1 on aggregate to reach the last-16.
Hello and welcome to live coverage from the Telia Parken in Denmark as Copenhagen play host to Ajax in the first leg of this last-16 Europa League tie!
Ajax were dumped from the final qualifying round of the Champions League. They breezed through the Europa League group stage and defeated Legia in the previous round to advance to the last-16, as they remain unbeaten in the competition to date.
Copenhagen have relied heavily on their impressive Parken form in Europe this season, maintaining a stellar defensive record, though the goals have dried up a bit for them lately. They will have to be sharp at both ends tonight to make sure they have something positive to take back with them to Amsterdam.
Ajax have not reached the quarter-finals in European competition since the 2002/03 Champions League, a lengthy drought for the consistent participants, who have seen their progress on the big stage stagnate in recent years – this is a manageable draw and a realistic opportunity for them to get over that hump.
AJAX (4-3-3): Onana; Tete, De Ligt, Viergever, Sinkgraven; Klaassen, Schone, van de Beek; Traore, Younes, Dolberg.
Stale Solbakken makes just one change from the second leg round-of-32 draw with Ludogorets, as William Kvist returns to the side, replacing Aboubakar Keita in midfield. Ex-Ajax left-back Nicolai Boilesen remains on the bench as he's not awarded a revenge start against his former club, following what was a bitter end to his time in Amsterdam.
Peter Bosz has to cope without his two most relied upon defenders, Joel Veltman and Davinson Sanchez, both of whom miss out through suspension, replaced by Kenny Tete and teenager Matthijs de Ligt. Daley Sinkgraven returns from injury after missing the second leg against Legia, replacing Jairo Riedewald, while youth product Donny van de Beek gets the start in midfield with Hakim Ziyech a surprising and rare omission from the starting XI.
Rasmus Falk gave Copenhagen the lead inside of 30 minutes at the Parken, but Kasper Dolberg, upon returning to his national stadium, restored parity for Ajax just beyond the half-hour mark. That's where we stand as the teams head into the tunnel with an important 45 minutes ahead in the Danish capital.
That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
Andreas Cornelius provides Copenhagen an advantage to take with them to Amsterdam, after first-half goals from Rasmus Falk and Kasper Dolberg canceled each other out. It was a spirited contest at the Parken, and both sides had their chances, so it is appropriate that it remains in the balance for the second leg next week.
