Anderlecht managed an impressive victory in Cyprus last week when they visited APOEL, with Nicolae Stanciu netting the only goal of the game in the first half.
Good evening and welcome to our LIVE match commentary of the Europa League game between Anderlecht and APOEL.
Thus, giving them a crucial away goal in the tie and giving themselves a fantastic chance of progression in the Europa League. The Belgian side followed this up with a 3-0 victory in the First Division on Sunday, to put them top of the table and favourites to clinch the Belgian domestic title.
That victory on Sunday makes it six wins and two defeats for them in their last eight outings in all competitions, and at home things are looking even more impressive. They have won six of their last eight and are unbeaten since the start of December, with their loss to Saint Etienne being one of only three home losses this season.
Meanwhile APEOL, bounced back from the first leg defeat with a 1-0 win at Anorthosis on Sunday as they began their Cyprus First Division Championship round, and they will be eager to win the domestic title again.
However, they have lost three of their last seven matches in all competitions, whereas prior to that they had remained unbeaten for 15 games. Away from home two of their last three games have ended in defeat, putting an end to a seven-game unbeaten streak.
TEAM NEWS: Anderlecht centre back Cara is out with a knee injury, whilst midfielder Adrien Trebel is ineligible. Meanwhile for APEOL, midfielder Nuno Morais is suspended, whilst defender Inaki Astiz missing out through injury.
