We're underway at the Emirates Stadium.
The race can also get a bit weird and wonderful and result in a play-off between Arsenal and Liverpool/City. If the Reds lose to Boro at home 2-0 and Arsenal play out a 1-1 draw with Everton this afternoon - or if City lose 4-0 to Watford and the Gunners beat the Toffees 1-0. However, unlikely those are the options still available.
Should Liverpool fail to beat Middlesbrough at Anfield that will open up the path for the Gunners to sneak ahead of Jurgen Klopp's side into the top four. Another avenue could open if Manchester City lose to Watford at Vicarage Road, although it will also require a swing of five goals to benefit the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger's men have been in excellent form of late, winning their last four matches on the spin. They've beaten Manchester United, Southampton, Stoke and Sunderland on their surge, but need to overcome Everton to have any chance of securing a top-four place for the 20th year on the spin.
Arsenal have put the pressure well and truly on Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for the top four. The Gunners know a fifth win on the bounce is necessary to dislodge the Reds or Pep Guardiola's men.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the final day Premier League clash between Arsenal and Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
The first order of business for Arsenal is to beat Everton, although that will be far from an easy task. The Toffees have been impressive this term and Romelu Lukaku will be determined to get himself back on top in the race for the golden boot after Harry Kane's exploits on Thursday.
Everton have been inconsistent of late, but did bounce back from successive defeats by beating Watford last week thanks to a strike from Ross Barkley. His future is far from certain and he could be aiming to leave his hometown club on a high note.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Arsenal have made three changes from their win over Sunderland during the week. Gabriel Paulista, Laurent Koscielny and Danny Welbeck come into the fold this afternoon, with Kieran Gibbs and Shkodran Mustafi dropping out of their squad, while Olivier Giroud starts from the bench.
Everton have made one change from their win over Watford, with Barkley being dropped to the bench and Enner Valencia replacing him in the side. Given the speculation over Barkley's future - the decision from Ronald Koeman may be political.
STAT ATTACK! Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 20 Premier League home matches against Everton, winning 16 of the contests.
STAT ATTACK! Everton beat the Gunners earlier this season and Koeman's side are aiming to do the double over Arsenal for the first time since the 1985/86 campaign.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: ARSENAL 2-0 EVERTON
A weird first half of football comes to an end with Arsenal holding a 2-0 lead over Everton, despite being reduced to 10 men. Hector Bellerin opened the scoring in the early stages, but the Gunners were dealt a blow when Laurent Koscielny was given a straight red card for a loose challenge on Enner Valencia. However, lapse defending from the visitors allowed Alexis Sanchez to double the home side's lead with a simple strike.
It's all for nothing for Arsene Wenger's men currently as Liverpool lead Middlesbrough, while Manchester City are well ahead at the break against Watford. The Gunners need an equaliser from Boro in the second half to send them into the Champions League next term.
Everton have been very wasteful in front of goal, with Ronald Koeman visibly frustrated on the sideline. The Dutchman faces an important teamtalk at the break if his side are going to avoid ending their term with a whimper.
The players are back out for the second half. So we should be underway again shortly.
FULL-TIME: ARSENAL 3-1 EVERTON
Arsenal did their job this afternoon, but in the end it's not enough to secure Champions League football as wins for Manchester City and Liverpool elsewhere see them settle for fifth place and the Europa League.
Arsene Wenger's played well despite being reduced to 10 men in the 15th minute when Laurent Koscielny was dismissed. The Frenchman will now miss the FA Cup final next week, while Gabriel Paulista also suffered a serious injury.
Everton end their campaign with a whimper and Ronald Koeman has a lot of decisions to make over the summer over the future of his key players. Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley could be on the move and it's vital that they are sufficiently replaced should they leave. There's plenty to build on though for the Dutchman following a successful first term.
Goals from Hector Bellerin, Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey secured the win, with Romelu Lukaku netting a consolation goal for the visitors from the spot. It's a good end to the season for the Gunners, who will now be looking to take momentum into their clash with Chelsea next week in the FA Cup fina.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
