Watford have a final go to get a second and Okana almost does, after Schindler and Malone trip over each other in the box - only for Lossl to push his effort over the crossbar from close range and the referee blows for full-time!
90' +4
Huddersfield have a flurry of late chances, the best of which is a Quaner strike from just outside the box; it squirts under Gomes, only for Doucoure to lunge a foot out in defence to deny a fifth goal for the visitors.
90' +2
Carrillo gets a ghost of a chance, lofting a shot in from the left flank of the box; Schindler intercepts and clears with aplomb.
90'
A. Mooy gets yellow.
Four added minutes on the way, as the away fans dance in the stands What a way to seal a win for Huddersfield after their loss in midweek. Watford look entirely demoralised now as their fans head to the exits.
89'
D. Janmaat gets yellow.
Penalty goal scored by A. Mooy for Huddersfield Town!
Penalty to Huddersfield! Hero to zero for Doucoure as he catches the back of Depoitre on the left edge of the box. It's a dramatic reaction, very much trying for the spot-kick - and he gets it. Mooy to take...
Mooy steps back, takes one to the left, then strolls in and buries it into the bottom left corner, despite Gomes' best efforts to hold it out. Town fans erupt as the rest of Vicarage Road falls silent; the comeback has been quashed and Huddersfield have surely secured the win.
Yellow card Daryl Janmaat
88'
Corner to Huddersfield now as Ince suddenly finds space and lofts a shot from the left for the near top corner that forces Gomes to leap and push out.
86'
Now Carillo gives away a similar free kick on the left flank now and Huddersfield once more squeeze out their opponents, pinning it near the corner flag with Ince who eventually concedes a throw.
84'
Richarlison gives away a free kick to Huddersfield on halfway and again, Town look to pin it into a corner. Kabasele deals with it this time, and tries to take it down the wing to little avail as the midfield firms up.
83'
Mooy gets a corner which Huddersfield keep pinned down, refusing to press the attack and frustrating Watford's attempts to cut back into the opposition half. It works for half a minute - and the hosts earn a throw and are back on the cusp of the Terriers' half.
82'
S. Okaka enters the game and replaces J. Holebas.
Holebas is the final man to depart - much to his frustration - and Okaka arrives in his place.

Description
81'
Mooy almost gets a freak goal for Huddersfield after a Malone break down the left wing, seeing a Prodl deflection nearly end up in the back of the net. The Terriers get a corner, though they are unable to make anything of it - and Gomes collects to reboot the Hornets attack.
80'
Ten minutes left, plus injury time, as Watford prepare for their third and final change. Depoitre sprints after a long ball looped down by Quaner, only for Gomes to clean up fast enough.
79'
It's turned in and Watford appeal for a handball clearance from the visitors; none is forthcoming though and Huddersfield get a throw-in to dig themselves out of danger with.
78'
Watford get a corner now as Gray fools Hadergionaj out wide on the left. Holebas to take...
77'
Doucoure creates the space out on the left to put Richarlison away - his connection with the strike is poor though and it flies well wide and right of the goal. Watford have had 65 percent possesion in the second half - and are continuing to pile the pressure on here to keep the comeback alive.
75'
Pereyra, Richarlison and Gray all have a crack, with Schindler managing to hold off the former two via deflection and the latter spraying his shot just wide to the left across the face of goal. Huddersfield look absolutely in free-fall all of a sudden.
73'
Richarlison finds open space down the left flank from a Holebas cross - and is caught by the linesman's flag.
71'
Two corners from Holebas now for Watford that only find the first man in the shape of Schindler and Huddersfield survive the sudden onslought of Hornets players swarming their box.
69'
L. Depoitre gets yellow.
Depoitre is booked for time-wasting down the other end now as he puts a clumsy tackle on Kabasele and then punts the ball away to eat up the seconds.
68'
A. Doucouré has scored a goal for Watford!
What a goal from Doucoure! Watford have a glimmer of hope thanks to an absolutely brilliant half-volley from 20 yards out after a Zanka header to clear falls to him. It's a monster strike and suddenly Vicarage Road has come alive. Game on.
What a frantic spell of play from Watford. Carrillo sets up a hectic passage of play in the Huddersfield box that ends with Pereyra curling a strike for the left post that Lossl tips away. The hosts get a free kick a moment later on the sharp left edge, only fifteen yards out...
66'
Corner for Watford now, with Holebas steering it in from the left - and Prodl's deft header just arcs over the crossbar.
64'
D. Williams enters the game and replaces R. van La Parra.
A. Gray enters the game and replaces É. Capoue.
And Watford respond by bringing out Andre Grey for Capoue to add some more firepower up front.
63'
David Wagner is taking no chances with their reduction to ten men; van La Parra is off and Danny Williams comes on to add some more grunt in central midfield. Suddenly, a glimmer of hope is on the horizon for Watford with the playing field levelled.
61'
J. Hogg gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Hogg catches Richarlison with a clumsy tackle from behind - and it's a second yellow! Both teams are down to ten men, with their captains sent off. It looks like a harsh decision on second viewing; the Terriers man applauds his fans as he departs the field.
Mooy's effort finds van La Parra on the rebound, before Holebas is able to muscle the ball crossfield, out of the box and earns a throw.
60'
Free kick down the other end of the pitch now, as Prodl puts a little trip of Depoitre out wide on the right. It's a good 35 yards out...
59'
It's a wasted corner from Holebas, catching the front man and clipped away from danger by Malone. Doucoure tries to play it back in, but the Huddersfield defence is too savvy and clean up smartly through Hadergionaj.
58'
Free kick for Watford now, out on their left flank 40 yards off goal after Richarlison goes down softly. Holebas turns it in, and Carrillo gets the second attempt after a rebound, seeing Hogg deflect it for a corner.
56'
Richarlison gives the hosts a sniff of a chance, playing a great half-volley off to Janmaat, who slices his shot wide to the right. He appeals for a corner, claiming a glance off Mooy in defence; none is given.
54'
Malone and Schindler are content to play it around the back, frustrating Richarlison to no end. Watford are still not looking clean out there; another card could be on the way if they don't look out.
52'
The restart takes a moment, with Holebas still down on the ground. The Huddersfield fans are busy chanting the theme from Heartbeat in fine voice at the away end of Vicarage Road; the rest of the crowd is muted as it starts to drizzle.
50'
L. Depoitre has scored a goal for Huddersfield Town!
Oh my word, what a strike from Depoitre! And what a goal! It's Quaner who gets the first bite of the cherry, edging into the right flank of the box and losing the ball to Holebas, who then staggers and falls under little pressure - either with a freak injury or trying to milk a free kick. Either way, Depoitre runs onto the loose ball, takes three steps and squeezes a wonderful shot off into the top left corner on the tightest of angles. What a stonking goal - Huddersfield lead 3-0 and are in imperious form.
49'
Two closes chances for Town in succession; Ince tears down the left and sees his shot blocked at the last by Gomes with some great scrambling defence. The substitute lofts it back across the box for Quaner with the keeper out of position - only for his header to swing wide and right.
47'
Great run from Quaner down the right wing, doing well to outmuscle Kabasele; only for his selfless pass back in to Ince for a better angle to be dealt with and cleared by Capoue.
46'
We're back underway at Vicarage Road - can Watford find a way back into this against the odds?
45' +5
Watford get a free kick 40 yards out on the right to finish off the half. Holebas lofts it into the box and Prodl tries to get a touch; instead, it's flicked back by Zanka and the referee blows for half-time.
45' +4
van La Parra is picked out with a wonderful ball by Mooy heading down the right edge into the box, only to put his shot flat and straight to Gomes.
45' +2
Quaner looks to cut down that right flank again and flicks a long ball on for Ince to chase that just runs too deep.
45'
S. Malone enters the game and replaces C. Löwe.
Another change now, with Chris Lowe departing for Scott Malone as Huddersfield look to firm up at the back, with five added minutes on the way too.
44'
Huddersfield look like they're going to make another change - likely one at the back to either firm up options or give a run out. Two goals and one man up, it would take a massive collapse to lose from here.
42'
Ince strikes over the wall - and over the crossbar too, in a rather poor effort that flew far off target.
41'
A. Doucouré gets yellow.
Doucoure gets a booking too for that tackle, to add to Watford's miserable day so far.
40'
Huddersfield get a free-kick now on the edge of the Watford box, on the right after another sterling run from Quaner. Town could easily make it three here, and all before half-time.
38'
Holebas steers it in for Richarlison near the right post - and he buries it into the bottom of the goal! Wait, the flag is up! Offside! Watford can't believe it - a collective groan echoes around Vicarage Road, as replays show that most of their attack were caught out by great line discipline from Town.
37'
J. Hogg gets yellow.
A booking for Huddersfield now; Hogg gets a yellow after a dragging arm makes contact with Carillo. Holebas has the free kick, 30 yards out on the right...
35'
It's been a sloppy Watford showing so far, even pushing Huddersfield's first goal aside. Deeney's red card just about sums up their play so far. It's going to take something big to salvage a result from the ten men out there now.
33'
T. Deeney goes off after a red card!
Watford's day just got a whole lot worse; Troy Deeney comes in, with both feet off the floor and smashes into the ankle of Quaner. It looked like there might have been a slip; it's still a foolish and dangerous challenge. It's a straight red from the referee; the fifth the Hornets have recieved this season.
31'
Richarlison scampers down the left flank, fed by Pereyra on a crossfield effort, and looks to blast one over Lossl; a late touch from Hadergionaj manages to disrupt his flow though and the shot goes straight to the keeper.
29'
R. Pereyra enters the game and replaces A. Mariappa.
Watford obviously feel they have to make a change to have a chance of staying in the game - and they've gone for width, with Adrian Mariappa off and Roberto Pereyra on in his place.
27'
Carrillo makes a great link up Richarlison heading down the right wing, and his pass looks to find Deeney on the left side of the penalty area, just pushing it a touch wide and out for a goal kick.
25'
Ever since Marco Silva was linked with the Everton job, the sense of invincibility in this Watford outfit has looked somewhat ropey. They've been made to pay again this time - and there's nothing wrong with that second effort whatsoever. Huddersfield's fans in the crowd are absolutely elated.
23'
A. Mooy has scored a goal for Huddersfield Town! Assist by C. Quaner.
Two for Huddersfield! Watford are caught static at the back, expecting a lofted ball to Quaner on the right wing to be called offside. It isn't and the winger turns it in flat across the face of goal - and at the left post, Mooy scrambles it over the line. The Hornets are stunned; they trail 2-0 withing 25 minutes.
That's one gorgeous cross from Quaner too, it must be said.
22'
Prodl throuws himself into the path of a Quaner cross and gives Huddersfield a throw on the right flank in line with the 18 yard box.
21'
Richarlison! Fed by a crossfield effort from Holebas, he sneaks into the left side of the box and slips round the back four, before skying his shot over Lossl on the tight angle. The closest Watford have come so far.
20'
From the restart, a blistering Carrillo run onto a long ball from Gomes earns Watford a corner. Holebas turns it in; Mooy clears with a half-volley.
19'
T. Ince enters the game and replaces E. Kachunga.
Indeed, it is Tom Ince who takes to the field in this early Town change.
18'
Applause - and a few boos - ring out around Vicarage Road as Kachunga is removed from the field via stretcher. Tom Ince will likely be his replacement, but there's no denying Huddersfield are going to miss the man who scored their first away league goal since the opening day only 15 minutes ago.
16'
This doesn't look good for Kachunga though. The goalscorer is prone in front of the Watford goal and medical staff with stretchers are attending to what looks like a knee injury.
14'
Mooy steers it in and the rebound comes back to Kachunga who hacks his effort through the defence; it rebounds to Depoitre, and a late flag comes up for offside, to ironic cheers.
13'
The second corner is cleared by Lossl, before Lowe rushes it downfield and earns a corner, much to the disgruntlement of Watford who feel it should have been a goal-kick.
12'
Watford get their first sniff of a chance now, with back-to-back corners - and Richarlison looks almost certain to head in the first after Holebas curls it in for him, only for Hogg to push it above and out in front of him.
10'
It's lofted long and to the right for Mooy, who steers his rather tame header wide and out some distance from the goal-mouth.
8'
Every replay angle shows both Depoitre and Kachunga to be offside, yet remonstration with the referee from the Hornets does little to change his mind. Town now get a free-kick 30 yards out on the centre-left edge as Watford continue to grumble.
6'
E. Kachunga has scored a goal for Huddersfield Town! Assist by L. Depoitre.
Huddersfield take the lead! It's controversial though, with Watford players appealing for offside. Mooy plays back the long corner from the left flank, and chips it wide to Depoitre who cuts back from an offside position and shoots for the bottom left corner. It looks to be edging out until Kachunga - clearly in an offside position too - pokes it in with his boot. That's a bit of luck for the Terriers; they already have the Hornets a goal down in the opening minutes.
That was offside from Depoitre both recieving and providing the ball there, surely?
5'
Another Huddersfield corner now as Gomes fails to collect a Kachunga effort and is forced to pare out the attempted follow up cross. Kabasele steers the effort out this time and a second corner comes the way of the Terriers.
4'
Mooy steers it in well towards the far right post and Schindler; the defender's header is weak though and skims well clear of the goal.
3'
Corner now for Town, as Mariappa puts out a van La Parra cross. Mooy to take...
2'
Watford pick up a throw on their left flank and Holebas is able to loft it crossfield and deep for Carrillo to collect. He stumbles slightly and Schindler defuses the attack swiftly.
1'
Deeney gets us underway at Vicarage Road. It's the third game in eight days for both teams; are we looking at a sluggish encounter or something with a bit more spark?
Hello and welcome to the penultimate weekend of Premier League football before Christmas 2017, as Watford entertain Huddersfield Town at Vicarage Road. It’s the inaugural top-flight meeting for the two sides, and the first since January 2015 in the Championship; but will it be the Hornets or the Terriers who come away with an early present in their stocking? Kick-off is just around the corner.
After a bright start to life in the Premier League, Huddersfield have faltered badly, with five defeats in the last six. In each of those, they’ve shipped two or more goals, for a total of 16, including three against Chelsea at the John Smith’s Stadium in midweek; a win today would give their survival hopes a much-needed boost as they approach the new year and midway mark of the season.
Watford have cause to celebrate with their previous form against newly-promoted sides at Vicarage Road in the top flight; in their last seven contests, they are undefeated, conceding a single goal among all games and subsequently keeping clean sheets in six of those matches. Troy Deeney also has promising form against the Terriers; in his last nine league meetings, he has netted six times and provided four assists for good measure.
There’s been contrasting fortunes in attack this year for Huddersfield’s Tom Ince and Watford’s Richarlison too; the former has attempted more shots than anyone else in the division without finding the back of the net, with a whopping 40. The latter conversely has been directly involved in nine goals, scoring five himself, for the Hornets, more than any other player in Marco Silva’s side.
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN (4-4-2): Lossl, Schindler, Lowe, Hadergjonaj, Zanka, van La Parra, Mooy, Hogg, Kachunga, Quaner, Depoitre
David Wagner will be wanting more of the same in the second half; Marco Silva not so much. Though questions will rage about the legality of Elias Kachunga's first goal for Town, the second for Aaron Mooy had no doubts about it - and with their captain Troy Deeney sent off for good measure, the Hornets have it all to do in the next 45. Half-time at Vicarage Road, it's Watford 0-2 Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield haven't scored four goals in a top-flight match since 1956, against Charlton, and they will rightfully be celebrating this one on the journey back up the M1. They're on the road again next week, against Southampton, whilst Watford also head to the coast to tangle with Brighton. Will either find some last minute festive cheer on the edge of the English Channel? Until then, thank you and have a great weekend!
It looked like Watford were dead and buried at half time, trailing by two with their captain sent off, and a third goal in the opening exchanges for Laurent Depoitre did nothing to boost morale. But the dismissal of Jonathan Hogg and a screamer of a goal for Doucoure gave them hope - right up until he gave away a penalty for Aaron Mooy to slot home. The Hornets have had a terrible day at the office; the Terriers have got their early Christmas present in glittering fashion. Full-time at Vicarage Road, it finishes Watford 1-4 Huddersfield Town.
