Three minutes added on in Abu Dhabi. Could Gremio take this to extra time? Spoiler alert: Probably not.
90'
Question for Gremio in January is whether they can keep hold of their prized assets. Arthur and Luan seem the most likely to be chased by European clubs and they could command a very high price.
88'
Gremio have really disappointed this evening. Barring their penalty shout, the South American champions have offered nothing at all in the attacking third.
86'
Into the final minutes of the game and Real Madrid are cruising, though Zidane will have some concerns ahead of the huge match with Barcelona next week.
84'
Maicon enters the game and replaces Michel.
Final change for Gremio, unless it goes to extra-time. Michel trots off, with Maicon coming on.
83'
CLOSE! Bale has really made an impression! His latest contribution sees him cut inside to find a shooting opportunity, then slicing an attempt with the outside of his boot that requires Grohe to tip the ball over the bar.
82'
SAVE! Ronaldo almost gets his second! Real Madrid break with intent and Ronaldo is fed the ball inside the box. He strikes for the far corner but Grohe makes a very good save. Without him, Gremio would have found themselves behind by a much higher scoreline.
80'
G. Bale enters the game and replaces K. Benzema.
Second change of the game for Real Madrid sees the introduction of Gareth Bale, who replaces Benzema. There's plenty of space for the Welshman to exploit.
77'
Vazquez's introduction has at least sparked some pace into the game down the right and that's the area where Real Madrid look the most dangerous. We're still very short of decent attacking openings though.
75'
This game has felt more like a friendly than a final. The tempo has never quite ignited as it should, whilst both sides look off the pace.

Description
73'
Lucas Vázquez enters the game and replaces Isco.
Real Madrid's turn to make a change, with Vazquez coming on for Isco.
71'
Everton enters the game and replaces Ramiro.
Second change of the game for gremio, with Ramiro replaced by Everton- who scored the winning goal in the semi-final.
69'
It's ticking towards a very comfortable defence of the Club World Cup title for Real Madrid, although they haven't showed their true class during their time in Abu Dhabi.
67'
If there is more goals in this, they will almost certainly come from Real Madrid. Keylor Navas hasn't done much, he just has the best seat in the house!
65'
OFF THE POST! Real Madrid have finally found their form! Modric charges forward and drives a strong, low effort at goal that Grohe saves well, palming the strike from the Croatian onto the post.
63'
Jael enters the game and replaces L. Barrios.
First change of the game sees Lucas Barrios replaced by Jael. It's a like for like change, rather than trying to bolster the attack.
61'
SAVE! Casemiro fires at goal from distance but Grohe palms the ball away. He's certainly been on his toes in the second-half, after a fairly comfortable opening 45 minutes.
59'
DISALLOWED! Well, right on cue, Ronaldo has the ball in the back of the net again. Marcelo clips a cross into Benzema, who heads back to Ronaldo. The Portuguese ace strikes it into the net with ease but the offside flag is raised and the officials ignore Ronaldo's request to review the incident via VAR.
57'
All of the indications ahead of the match suggested it wouldn't be a high scoring affair and Gremio will hope that the floodgates don't open after Ronaldo's opener. In any case, from what we've seen so far I'd be very surprised if a flurry of goals followed.
55'
Gremio won't be happy at all. They had a very good shout for a penalty turned down mere seconds before Ronaldo earned that free-kick and they don't really look like creating anything that can get them back in the game.
53'
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Real Madrid!
GOAL! Well, it's a contentious few minutes indeed! Real Madrid hit on the counter-attack with Ronaldo earning a free-kick and he steps-up to take it. His shot finds a gap in the wall and bounces into the bottom corner, his seventh Club World Cup goal!
52'
Gremio are furious, they're convinced they should have had a penalty. Ramos clatters into Ramiro and he's very fortunate to get away with that!
51'
CHANCE! Ronaldo, with options both sides, unsurprisingly fires at goal. It's quite a way off target and Grohe's easy game continues.
49'
First corner of the second-half goes to Real Madrid but it goes all the way through again! Someone really needs to grab the game and provide some spark here.
48'
It's a good angle for Toni Kroos' delivery but it goes all the way through. Once again, a decent opening for Real Madrid goes begging.
47'
Real Madrid are now kicking to the left and Marcelo has just won a free-kick out wide.
45' +1
Into the minute of time added on.
45'
Second-half begins, surely it can only get better?
44'
Gremio still struggling to create anything of note in the attacking third. It took them 95 minutes to score in the semi-final and they don't look capable of breaking down Real Madrid here.
42'
Another decent move from Real Madrid finishes with Carvajal delivering a dangerous cross towards an area where Benzema is lurking but the French striker doesn't manage to get his head on the ball.
40'
CLOSE! Ronaldo swerves a fierce free-kick towards goal but it's too high and flies over the top of the bar. We're still awaiting the first clear-cut chance and there's no guarantee it will come in the first-half.
38'
HUGE tackle! Ronaldo looked certain to break the deadlock but a decisive tackle from Kannemann prevents the Portuguese attacker from getting his shot away.
36'
Considering that these two teams are supposed to be the best club sides in the world, it's been extremely disappointing so far.
34'
Meanwhile at the other end, Gremio are growing in spirit. A dangerous cross from the far side requires attention from Carvajal, earning the Brazilians a corner, but they go short with the set-piece and fail to create anything at all.
33'
Real Madrid aren't quite clicking so far, particularly Benzema and Ronaldo. The pair haven't been firing on all cylinders in La Liga this season and they continue to struggle here.
31'
If you're late tuning in and are concerned that you might have missed something important, I can confirm that not much at all has occured so far.
29'
CLOSE! It's a long, long way from goal but Edilson tries his luck and, to be fair to him, it wasn't too far away and whizzed over the bar. Incredible curl on the ball!
27'
Casemiro gets yellow.
First yellow card of the game goes to Casemiro after a poor tackle but Real Madrid aren't happy, as a few Gremio players have escaped a booking previously.
26'
Gremio almost architects of their oqn downfall, as Luan sloppily gives the ball away and allows Ronaldo to counter. Fortunately for the Brazilian side, the Ballon D'Or winner slips just outside of the area and they manage to get it away.
24'
CLOSE! Marcelo shows brilliant skill out wide and Modri then does the same to create an opening for a shot, which drags just wide of the far post. Gremio have their backs against the wall!
23'
An opening goal for Real Madrid now appears to be inevitable. They've looked dangerous from set-pieces but are yet to test the defence fully, with Grohe still yet to be called into decisive action.
21'
Real Madrid now banging on the door, with Isco lofting an inviting ball over the top to Benzema. Grohe is quick off his line though to snatch possession, with Isco smashing well wide of the mark moments later.
20'
CHANCE! First big chance of the game falls to Real Madrid, with Modric doing superbly to whip a dangerous ball into the box. It's headed away but only as far as Carvaljal, who strikes at goal but sees his effort cleared away for a corner.
19'
Luan has looked bright for Gremio and has attracted plenty of plaudits ahead of the game, even being compared recently to Ronaldinho! He's got a fair way to go before emulating the former Barcelona star though.
17'
Real Madrid look dangerous on the counter, with Gremio trying as much as they can to create something going forward.
15'
Gremio doing very well off the ball, as they close down Real Madrid's players at every opportunity. Their front-four is also moving around a fair amount but are yet to find space to make an impact.
13'
Zidane's side now firmly in control and we're yet to see Gremio's array of attacking talent make an impact in the Real Madrid half, with Varane and Sergio Ramos holding firm.
11'
Real Madrid win the first corner of the game after Benzema's shot from range is deflected behind, with the attack being launched by Varane. The French defender surged forward with plenty of intent and caused a lot of problems.
10'
Gremio have defended well so far, intercepting at crucial opportunities to prevent Real from launching an attack. Ronaldo looked certain to feed through Benzema but the Brazilian's defensive line stands firm.
8'
Zidane's side continue to move the ball well but Gremio have a free-kick deep in their half, with their keeper punts upfield.
6'
Real Madrid yet to get going fully but they're moving the ball around well. There is a number of early challenges in this game and it's set-up very physically.
4'
Gremio have started well here and it's certainly an open match, so it's set up brilliantly!
2'
Already a point of contention, with Ronaldo blatantly fouled by Gremio captain Pedro Geromel. The referee decided not to give a yellow card, which is a surprise.
1'
KICK-OFF! We're underway in Abu Dhabi! Real Madrid get us started, kicking to the right.
Gremio name an unchanged side following the semi-final win over Pachuca, with wing wizard Luan standing as one to keep an eye on. Young midfield ace Arthur, who has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid, is unavailable through injury. The Brazilians, naturally, have an abundance of flair in their side and it will keep Real Madrid's back-line busy.
Real Madrid name the same line-up that defeated Juventus in May's Champions League final but make a number of changes from midweek. Hakimi, Nacho and Kovacic drop to the bench, with their places taken by Sergio Ramos, Carvajal and Toni Kroos.
Gremio subs: Bruno Grassi, Paulo Victor, Leonardo, Maicon, Jael, Everton, Bruno Rodrigo, Rafael Thyere, Bressan, Marcelo Olivera, Kaio, Leo Moura.
Real Madrid subs: Kiko Casilla, Nacho, Gareth Bale, Theo Hernandez, Lucas Vazquez, Marcos Llorente, Achraf Hakimi, Marco Asensio, Borja Mayoral, Mateo Kovacic, Dani Ceballos, Moha Ramos.
Gremio XI: Marcelo Grohe; Edilson, Pedro Geromel, Walter Kannemann, Bruno Cortez; Michel, Jailson; Ramiro, Luan, Fernandinho; Lucas Barrios.
Real Madrid XI: Keylor Navas; Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Marcelo; Luka Modric, Casemiro; Isco, Toni Kroos, Cristiano Ronaldo; Karim Benzema.
Gremio found things equally difficult in their semi-final against Pachuca, requiring an extra-time goal from substitute Everton to give the Brazilian side their spot in today's game. They enter the match as the underdogs but they certainly have the ability to cause Real Madrid problems.
Real Madrid were always expected to make today's showcase final but they certainly didn't find things easy in their semi-final against Al Jazira, requiring Gareth Bale to lead a turnaround after Romarinho gave the Asian side a 1-0 win at the break. Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale netted in the second-half though, sealing Los Blancos' place in today's match.
Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup final between Real Madrid and Gremio, where Zinedine Zidane's defending champions look to retain their crown against South American champions Gremio.
HALF-TIME! No goals so far in Abu Dhabi but Real Madrid have dominated from the off, with Gremio yet to get going in the attacking third. They've had their backs against the wall and have relied upon decisive defensive intervention to keep them ahead, although Grohe is yet to be tested full with Ronaldo and Isco amongst those firing off target.
At this stage, I'd usually give a summary of each side but there really hasn't been muched to discuss. Gremio will be happy with the scoreline but a goal for Real Madrid seems to be inevitable, although Benzema has once again looked sub-par. Zidane's side needed Gareth Bale in the semi-final and the Welshman could be a vital asset off the bench here.
FULL-TIME! Real Madrid defend their Club World Cup crown but it's hardly been a thrilling performance from the Spanish giants in either of their matches. They finish 1-0 winners thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick and they were the better side throughout. Gremio, unfortunately, offered nothing at all.
Zidane's side get their hands on yet another trophy, their fifth of the year, but there's certainly still cracks gaping in his side. With a crucial El Clasico clash with Barcelona next weekend, the French manager faces a stern test to improve the club's fortunes- otherwise his stellar spell at the Santiago Bernabeu may be brought into question.
Gremio will certainly be very disappointed with that performance, as we saw nothing from them in attack. Highly-coveted Luan showed some bright flashes but struggled to get into the game fully, so not too much can be drawn from his performance. Suitors will be pursuing both him and Arthur, who missed today's game through injury, in the New Year and Gremio will have to shake things up in 2018.
