MISS! Yet another hopeful effort from distance, this time from N'Diaye, who doesn't even come close. It's all very nervous in the final third.
89'
SAVE! Butland holds another hopeful long-range effort towards his bottom corner.
88'
CHANCE! Crouch is at the heart of a dangerous Stoke attack, but despite his best efforts, he can't work an opening for either himself or a teammate.
87'
CHANCE! Boufal cuts inside well and plays the ball into the box for Gabbiadini, but it bobbles awkwardly as it comes to him and the striker misses the ball completely! What a chance that was!
85'
Jese races down the left as Southampton scream for a free-kick on the edge of the Stoke box, and the winger wins a corner off Stephens, but it comes to nothing.
83'
CHANCE! Shaqiri floats a lovely ball into the box, but Stephens does really well to head behind for a corner.
82'
MISS! Cedric attempts a very ambitious effort from a long way out, and it's never troubling Butland, sailing over the bar.
79'
S. Long enters the game and replaces G. Carrillo.
Long replaces Carrillo for the last 10 minutes in an attempt to snatch a winner.
77'
MISS! What a miss!! Redmond gets past his man on the right with a burst of pace and crosses for Boufal, who heads wide from seven yards out! The substitute had to score there!
Minute
Description
76'
S. Boufal enters the game and replaces J. Sims.
The hard-working Sims is replaced by Boufal for the remainder of the game.
75'
Butland makes a brave catch from a cross with Southampton players lunging in to get a touch.
74'
SAVE! Redmond works a yard away from Allen and tries to catch Butland out at his near post, but he's alert to the danger and makes the save.
72'
SAVE! Redmond cuts inside on the edge of the box and fires a shot towards the bottom corner, but Butland stretches to keep it out!
71'
OFFSIDE! Following yet another corner, the ball is lofted back into the area with red and white shirts queuing up, but the offside flag is raised.
70'
Bertrand's corner is headed clear, but Cedric picks him out with a wonderful through-ball, which the left-back fires off Pieters for another corner - despite appeals for handball.
68'
MISS! Crouch fizzes a low shot from distance well wide when he had options to his right.
67'
SAVE! What a save by Butland! Redmond's cross from the left falls for Cedric on the edge of the box, and the right-back hits it first-time with the outside of his boot with some power, only for Butland to keep it out well!
64'
M. Gabbiadini enters the game and replaces D. Tadić.
Jesé enters the game and replaces E. Choupo-Moting.
Choupo-Moting is substituted for Jese. The former Schalke man hasn't made the most of his chances today.
Tadic is replaced by Gabbiadini as Southampton go with two up top for the final 25 minutes or so.
63'
Lemina shows some incredible skill and strength to keep the ball off two Stoke players, before N'Diaye takes him out, and still doesn't get a yellow card!
61'
CHANCE! Crouch flicks the ball in behind for Choupo-Moting, who takes just a little too long to hit his shot and allows the defender back to block. Inexplicably though, a goal-kick is awarded.
60'
MISS! Lemina skies a shot from the edge of the box. Poor strike.
59'
SAVE! Best chance of the game for Southampton! Sims links up well with Cedric, playing a neat one-two in the box which opens the space up for him, but his side-footed effort lacks the power to beat Butland, who clings on well.
58'
Bertrand hits a wild cross that curls out of play before coming back in, and concedes a goal-kick.
57'
Carrillo goes in clumsily and is lucky to escape a booking. The referee has been very lenient today.
55'
The game has become a little scrappy in the last few minutes, with no clear openings for either side.
51'
Stoke break well and the ball ends up with Choupo-Moting, who cuts in from the left and slices a shot high and wide. The opening was there, but the execution was poor.
49'
MISS! Crouch tries the spectacular with a half-volley, but it's high over the crossbar. He's certainly scored from there before!
48'
Sims spurns a great opportunity after his first touch sold Martins Indi, taking another touch back across the defender, and allowing his to usher it out for a goal-kick.
46'
P. Crouch enters the game and replaces K. Stafylidis.
Stafylidis is replaced by Crouch, meaning Choupo-Moting returns to the left wing. Positive change for Stoke.
And the second half is underway!
Southampton come out of the blocks flying! Sims raced clear down the left, but Butland makes a solid save at his near post, before Lemina snatches at his shot following the resulting corner.
45' +5
And the referee brings the first half to a close!
45' +4
Zouma challenges Redmond just inside the box, but the referee points for a corner, which comes to nothing.
45' +3
CHANCE! Redmond back-heels for Bertrand, who nutmegs his marker and curls the ball into Tadic, but he has his back to goal under pressure and can only hook the ball wide!
45' +1
Pieters concedes a corner via a deflection, but Hoedt can't convert the cross at the back post.
45'
FIVE minutes of added time at the end of this half following the injury to Diouf.
43'
CHANCE! N'Diaye has the best chance of the game so far! Shaqiri pings a wonderful ball into the box, and N'Diaye's header is just tipped round the post!
41'
G. Cameron gets yellow.
Shaqiri wins a free-kick, but Cameron gets a yellow card for an earlier cynical challenge.
39'
Neither side able to keep the ball at the moment, and there are a few stray long balls on display from both teams.
36'
Sims takes a fantastic touch to go round Martins Indi, but the youngster is a little hesitant in taking his shot, allowing the centre-back time to get in and block it away.
34'
Stoke survive a couple of Southampton corners, as the hosts start to crank up the pressure.
31'
N'Diaye is very, very lucky to escape a yellow card after lunging in very recklessly on Lemina, getting none of the ball in a dangerous challenge on the Southampton midfielder.
30'
Shaqiri is not in a good mood today. Following his argument with Diouf, he's had a go at both Stafylidis and Bauer.
29'
A short Southampton corner is cleared out to Cedric, whose attempt at a first-time strike ends up in row Z.
27'
Stoke break really well through Choupo-Moting, and the ball is worked from right to left, and ends up with Stafylidis, whose right-footed effort is very ambitious, and miles off target.
25'
The pair combine nicely, as Choupo-Moting lays Stafylidis off, but the left-back's powerful shot is off-target.
23'
E. Pieters enters the game and replaces M. Diouf.
Interestingly, Pieters is the man to come on for Diouf. Stafylidis moves up onto the left wing, with Choupo-Moting through the middle.
21'
Crouch is warming up on the sideline, and Diouf is still receiving treatment on his wrist. He was holding his shoulder initially. It could be either, or a bit of both.
19'
Hoedt crashes into Diouf as the pair contest a header, flattening the Stoke striker with some force. There's some history there, and Diouf looks like he may have to come off.
18'
Redmond beats Allen all ends up on the left, and clips the ball into the box, but the Potters clear.
17'
Stoke try to probe an opening on the left side of the box, but Southampton have bodies back and they crowd the ball out.
15'
Sims plays a neat one-two and tries to slip Carrillo through, but his final pass is a little heavy. Good intent from the youngster though.
13'
Diouf is somewhat lucky to escape without a card after he and Hoedt are given a talking-to by the referee. Replays show that Diouf stamped on Hoedt's foot, leading the centre-half to give him a shove. Silly from the striker.
11'
The free-kick is cleared away, and Stoke look set to race clear with a two-on one! Shaqiri's ball into Diouf is poor though, and the striker didn't take up a good enough position either. Both are blaming each other in the aftermath.
9'
Southampton have settled now, and are seeing plenty of the ball. Redmond drives down the left flank and causes Bauer problems, winning a throw and then a free-kick in quick succession.
7'
Southampton win a free-kick on the right, which Redmond lofts into the box. It comes out to Lemina, whose cross is also cleared, before Shaqiri has his pocket picked while trying to break. The Saints are growing into the game, and working their right flank particularly well.
6'
Southampton work the right flank well and win a corner, but it's worked short and they lose the chance to cross into the box.
5'
Bauer tries to ping in an early cross from the right, but McCarthy reads it well and lets it go, getting a goal-kick via the corner flag. Stoke have started the brighter here.
4'
Zouma does excellently to prevent Carrillo from latching onto a cross at the near post and hoofing the ball well clear of the danger zone.
3'
SAVE! N'Diaye strikes a low drive from the edge of the area, but McCarthy is in a good position and gets his body behind the shot to smother.
2'
Allen looks to clip the ball back across for Diouf from the right, but it's cut out and Southampton clear.
1'
Stoke get the ball rolling for the start of the first half! Lots at stake for both sides in the context of the relegation batle here.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League fixture between Southampton and Stoke City at St. Mary's Stadium.
The line-ups have been announced, and we'll start with the home side.
Southampton substitutes: James Ward-Prowse, Sofiane Boufal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Shane Long, Jan Bednarek, Fraser Forster, Manolo Gabbiadini
Stoke City substitutes: Erik Pieters, Jese, Jakob Haugaard, Glen Johnson, Darren Fletcher, Peter Crouch, Ryan Shawcross
STAT: Stoke are winless in their last four Premier League matches, and have just one win in their last 10 games in all competitions (D4 L5). Their defensive record is woeful, having kept the fewest clean sheets in the league this season (four), although half of those have come in their last five games, following Paul Lambert's arrival. However, just a point separates the 19th-placed Potters from Southampton in 16th.
STAT: Meanwhile, the Saints have lost just twice so far this calendar year (against Liverpool and Crystal Palace). However, three of their four wins this year have come in the FA Cup, with their thrilling 3-2 victory away at West Brom their only league win of 2018. In fact, they have only won five league games in total this season, and record their joint-lowest points tally at this stage of a season since promotion to the top flight ahead of the 2012/13 campaign.
Stoke City XI (4-3-3): Jack Butland; Kostas Stafylidis, Bruno Martins Indi, Kurt Zouma, Moritz Bauer; Badou Ndiaye, Geoff Cameron, Joe Allen; Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Mame Biram Diouf, Xherdan Shaqiri
Both sides drew 1-1 last time out - to Burnley and Leicester, respectively - and will hope to pick up a vital three points in what is proving to be an increasingly unpredictable relegation scrap. Stoke won the reverse fixture 2-1 at home earlier this season - substitute Peter Crouch snatching the winner five minutes from time.
STAT: Southampton have won just two of their 11 Premier League meetings with Stoke (D5 L4), losing the last two in a row - they've never lost three league games in a row against them. However, the Saints are winless in their last seven at St Mary's since beating Everton 4-1 in November.
Southampton make just one change from their last game, as Sims replaces Ward-Prowse on the right side of midfield. Coach Mauricio Pellegrino welcomes Long back into the squad, naming him on the bench, but Steven Davis, Maya Yoshida and Charlie Austin remain sidelined.
Stoke are unchanged, but can name Shawcross and Crouch on the bench as both return from ankle injuries, while Haugaard is named as the back-up goalkeeper with Lee Grant out with a broken wrist. Stephen Ireland remains out with a calf problem.
Southampton XI (4-2-31): Alex McCarthy; Ryan Bertrand, Wesley Hoedt, Jack Stephens, Cedric Soares; Mario Lemina, Oriol Romeu; Nathan Redmond, Dusan Tadic, Josh Sims; Guido Carrillo
Gabbiadini ended a run of 16 games without a goal in all competitions for Southampton last time out - he's not scored in consecutive games for them since he scored in his first four appearances for the club, but the striker only makes the bench today, with Carrillo preferred up top.
It's goalless at the break, with Diouf's injury the major talking point of the first half. Having escaped punishment for stamping on Hoedt's foot, the centre-back exacted revenge with a hefty challenge for an aerial ball that forced the Stoke striker off with his arm in some discomfort. N'Diaye had the best chance of the half for Stoke, seeing his header tipped just wide, but chances have been at a premium in a fiercely contested, physical first 45 minutes.
A point doesn't really suit either side, but neither showed enough composure or quality in the final third to make the decisive breakthrough. Diouf's tangle with Hoedt in the first half - stamping on the latter's foot before then being flattened and having to go off injured - was the main talking point of a very physical game, despite the reluctance of the referee to brandish yellow cards. In the end, it's a hard-fought, nervy 0-0 at St. Mary's that leaves both sides very much mired in the relegation scrap.
