Another excellent chance for Bale! Madrid push forward on what should be their final attacking move of the night, and it's one that results in a great opportunity for Bale. He skips into the penalty area and latches onto a pass from Asensio before shooting, but Martinez pulls off a decent save to deny the Welshman.
90' +2
Bale hits the post! An attempted Benzema back-heel deflects off a blue shirt and over to Bale, who immediately curls a lovely strike past Martinez and off the outside of the far post. So close!
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be three minutes of added time.
88'
Lovely play by Madrid sets up Marcelo to burst into the left-hand side of the visitors' penalty area and towards the byline, where he whips a wonderful pass across the six-yard box. It can't quite pick out a team-mate, however, and Getafe avoid conceding for a fourth time.
86'
Dani Pacheco enters the game and replaces Portillo.
Getafe have made their third and final switch, with Portillo making way for Pacheco.
84'
Unsurprisingly, it's all Madrid at the moment as they patiently hold onto possession inside the Getafe half of the pitch. The visitors enjoyed a decent spell after pulling a goal back but are now struggling to get anywhere near the ball.
82'
Marcelo ges himself into a good position over on the left wing and pokes a clever pass into the penalty area. Bale darts towards the ball and just about manages to keep it play, but Benzema then can't quite do anything with it and is dispossessed before he can shoot.
80'
Kovacic quickly gets involved in the game and bursts deep into the Getafe half of the pitch. He then knocks the ball over to Casemiro, who shoots from 30 yards out but, unsurprisingly, can't hit the target with his audacious effort.
79'
M. Kovačić enters the game and replaces Marcos Llorente.
Marco Asensio enters the game and replaces Cristiano Ronaldo.
Madrid have decided to make a double substitution. The first player to come on is Kovacic, who replaces Llorente.
And the second is Asensio, with Ronaldo making way to a standing ovation.
78'
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Marcelo.
GOAL! It's another for Ronaldo! A third Madrid goal has been coming, and here it is! Marcelo swings a wonderful cross into the heart of the box and picks out Ronaldo, who rises high and beats Martinez for the second time tonight.
That was a great delivery from Marcelo, who put the ball on a plate for his team-mate. Ramos also did well in the build-up, as he held up the ball out wide as he waited for Marcelo to arrive.

Description
76'
Almost a chance for Benzema! A lofted pass is fired into the Getafe box and finds Isco at the near post. He holds the ball up, spins and knocks a pass back to Benzema, who looks set to shoot from close range but lets himself down with a heavy first touch.
75'
A low cross from Carvajal almost finds Benzema inside the penalty area, but Dakonam is just about able to get to the ball ahead of the striker. He can only clear the danger as far as Casemiro, however, but the Brazilian's chipped pass can't quite pick out Ronaldo in front of goal.
73'
After a period on the back foot, Getafe are able to push forward once again. They work the ball around nicely and almost set up Antunes to shoot, but he can't quite get to the ball on the edge of the Madrid box and narrowly loses out.
71'
Lovely, quick passing from Madrid almost results in a chance for Casemiro to shoot from just inside the Getafe penalty area, but he's closed down by two shirts before he can do so and loses out just as he's about to pull the trigger.
69'
What a save by Martinez! Carvajal twists and turns over on the right flank before firing a bouncing cross into the middle of the penalty area. It perfectly finds Ronaldo, who quickly forces Martinez into making a wonderful stop with his first-time strike from close range.
67'
Ronaldo scores again, but it won't count! Isco breaks into the Getafe box straight from the restart and wins Madrid a corner over on the left wing. It's sent short and worked over to Marcelo, who whips a cross over to Ronaldo and sets up the Portuguese to beat Martinez. The goal is immediately ruled out, however, and it seems to be for a shove on his marker. Another big call by the referee!
65'
Penalty goal scored by Portillo for Getafe!
Marcelo enters the game and replaces T. Hernández.
Madrid have made a switch at left-back, with Marcelo coming on to replace Theo.
GOAL! Portillo steps up and calmly fires the ball past Navas and into the back of the net. Could that be the start of a great comeback?
64'
PENALTY! Molina skips away from Nacho over on the right wing and immediately sprints into the Madrid penalty area. He then goes down under a tackle from the Madrid defender, and the referee immediately points to the spot. It's a strange call, though, as it looked as if he managed to win the ball.
62'
Another cross is fired into a dangerous position inside the visitors' penalty area and manages to find Benzema, but this time it's the striker who can't do anything with the ball, allowing Getafe to clear the danger without too much trouble.
61'
Carvajal charges into the right-hand side of the Getafe box and latches onto a deep cross at the far post, but he can't quite pick out a team-mate with his downward header and Madrid fail to carve out a chance on goal.
59'
G. Shibasaki enters the game and replaces Sergio Mora.
And now Getafe have made their second switch, with Mora making way for Shibasaki.
57'
Casemiro receives the ball in a pocket of space and quickly pokes it through to Ronaldo. The Portuguese is all alone inside the Getafe penalty area and looks set to shoot, but the linesman's flag is raised before he can do so.
56'
Jorge Molina enters the game and replaces Ángel Rodríguez.
The visitors have made their first alteration, with Molina coming on to replace Angel.
55'
Fajr, who has really struggled to get into the game tonight, breaks into the right-hand side of the Madrid box and tries to knock a pass across the face of goal, but Ramos is there to easily win the ball back for the home side on the byline.
53'
Portillo gets yellow.
The referee's yellow card is out once again, and this time it's been shown to Portillo for a late challenge from behind on Theo.
51'
Getafe have certainly started the second half with more attacking intent than they ended the first. They're piling plenty of bodies forward, but that's already started leaving them dangerously open at the back.
49'
Madrid are clumsy in possession deep inside their own half of the pitch and almost gifts Getafe a great chance to get a shot away, but Llorente is fouled during the build-up and, luckily for the home side, wins a free-kick.
47'
L. Rémy gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
RED CARD! Getafe are down to 10 men! The striker, who was booked in the first half, catches Nacho in the side of the face again with another flailing arm, and, after having a quick think, the referee shows the Frenchman his second yellow card. It's all gone wrong for Getafe...
46'
We're underway once again!
45' +2
Almost another for Ronaldo! The Portuguese manages to find some space in between the Getafe defence and midfield, allowing him to receive the ball, spin and unleash a thumping strike that sails just a few yards over the crossbar.
45' +1
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by K. Benzema.
Benzema deserves plenty of credit for his role in the goal, too. The striker got forward quickly and managed to pick out Ronaldo with an inch-perfect pass into a pocket of space.
GOAL! It's a 300th LaLiga goal for Ronaldo! Benzema storms forward and pokes a clever pass into the penalty area. It finds Ronaldo, who beautifully dances away from three defenders before sending a lovely strike into the bottom left-hand corner of the net. Sublime!
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
44'
Getafe are presented with a rare opportunity to string together a decent series of passes inside the Madrid half of the pitch, but a poor, underhit cross fails to find Remy on the edge of the box and they aren't able to carve out a chance on goal.
42'
Theo cuts inside and plays a quick one-two with Bale on his way towards the Getafe penalty area. He then tries to pick out Ronaldo with a poked pass, but he can't quite find the Portuguese and the visitors just about hold on once again.
40'
Carvajal goes close! Benzema charges towards the Getafe box on a great run before playing the ball back to Bale, who completely mistimes his attempted strike. Carvajal is able to pick up possession out wide, however, and he unleashes a rocket of a shot that gives Martinez a slight scare as it sails a few yards wide of the goal.
38'
Almost a great chance for Benzema! Isco and Ronaldo link up well, setting up the latter to work the ball over to Carvajal. The full-back then curls a wonderful cross over to the far post, where Benzema rises high but clatters into Suarez as he does so, giving away a free-kick.
36'
A poked pass from Bale can't quite find Ronaldo, but Isco is there to pick up the loose ball. He then tries to set up Ronaldo to shoot, but the Portuguese is beaten to the pass by a vital interception from Dakonam.
34'
Nacho gets yellow.
Nacho clumsily charges into Remy from behind as the visitors try to counter-attack, leaving the referee with no choice but to book the centre-back.
33'
Bale sends a wonderful pass over the top of the Getafe back line and towards Benzema, who meets the ball and tries to knock it back to Ronaldo but is immediately flagged offside.
31'
Madrid come back once again as they desperately try to score a second goal. Ronaldo charges into the right-hand side of the penalty area and fizzes a pass across the face of goal, but Martinez is there to get a hand on the ball ahead of Benzema.
30'
The home side push forward once again, and this time it's Theo who whips in a dangerous cross. It almost manages to pick out Ronaldo in front of goal, but the ball deflects off the chest of Dakonam and into the hands of Martinez.
29'
Bale bursts down the right wing and forces Bruno into poking the ball behind for a corner. It's sent short and worked to Isco, whose cross into the penalty area is a good one but can't quite pick out a team-mate.
27'
Isco and Bale link up nicely in the middle of the pitch before the latter pokes a pass out to Carvajal. The full-back is in a pocket of space and crosses, but his ball into the box is poor and easily cleared.
25'
L. Rémy gets yellow.
Remy rises high on the edge of the Madrid penalty area and catches Nacho in the side of the head with a flailing arm, resulting in the referee showing the forward a yellow card.
24'
G. Bale has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Isco.
GOAL! Bale has fired Madrid into the lead! The home side haven't been at their best so far, but they've nonetheless managed to find a way in front. A looping cross from Benzema flies over to the far post and picks out Isco, who nods the ball down to Bale and sets him up to beat Martinez with a first-time strike.
Isco did well to get his head on the ball, but Ramos deserves credit as well. He was there with the midfielder and helped to out-muscle his marker as the two battled for possession.
23'
Carvajal is left in a pocket of space over on the right-hand side of the visitors' box, allowing him to quickly poke the ball back to Bale. The Welshman twists and turns and eventually works the ball over to Isco, who has to settle for a corner after his cross is deflected behind.
21'
Theo is able to return to the pitch and the game gets underway once again. He quickly fires a lofted pass down the left wing and into the path of Isco, who initially does well to keep the ball in play but can't quite get the better of Dakonam.
20'
There's a brief break in play as Theo receives treatment for what looks like a nasty cut on the nose. He was caught by an accidental flailing arm from Dakonam, and it's left him in need of medical attention.
19'
Nacho is presented with a rare opportunity to charge down the right flank and into a promising position. He then cuts into the penalty area and gets a shot away, but it's sent straight into the hands of Navas.
18'
Remy is clattered into from behind by Nacho, and Getafe are awarded a free-kick just inside the hosts' half of the pitch. They can't do anything with it, though, as Theo is there to head the ball away from danger out on the left wing.
16'
Antunes is caught in possession by Llorente and looks to have lost the ball in a very dangerous area, but the referee awards a free-kick to Getafe just as the Madrid midfielder is about to burst into the box. Zidane isn't at all happy with that decision!
14'
Ronaldo breaks through the middle of the visitors' back line and does well to latch onto a poked pass from Casemiro. The Portuguese is well offside, however, and the linesman's flag is raised as soon as he blasts a shot into the side-netting.
12'
Carvajal sprints into the right-hand side of the Getafe penalty area and tries to latch onto a chipped cross from Theo, but Martinez reads the danger well and comfortably collects the ball ahead of the right-back.
10'
An attempted Madrid attacking move over on the right wing fails to come to anything and allows Getafe to quickly counter-attack, but a lofted pass up towards Angel fails to find the forward and is easily dealt with.
8'
No, they can't. Isco's deep cross into the penalty area is a relatively good one, but it's unable to pick out a white shirt in front of goal and Dakonam easily clears the danger at the far post.
7'
Remy commits a foul over on the right flank, and Madrid are awarded a free-kick in a promising position. It's been a decent start to the game by the home side, and will they be able to make this set-piece count?
5'
Ouch! Angel and Nacho both rise high as they try to latch onto a lofted pass on the edge of the Madrid box, but they end up clashing heads as they do. It leaves both in a bit of pain, but they're quickly able to get back to their feet once again.
3'
Madrid quickly go on the front foot as Ronaldo sprints down the left flank and into a pocket of space. He then tries to poke a pass over to Theo on the edge of the penalty area, but he ends up sending the ball just behind the marauding full-back and the attack comes to a disappointing end.
1'
We're off! Madrid get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s LaLiga game between Real Madrid and Getafe at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Just when it looked as if things were getting better for a Madrid side that have been far from their best all season, they were sent crashing back down to earth by a last-minute Espanyol goal. Gerard Moreno’s strike consigned Los Blancos to their fifth defeat of the season and has left them 15 points behind league leaders Barcelona, a situation that would have been unthinkable at the start of the campaign.
Madrid haven’t had a chance of winning this year’s LaLiga crown for most of the season, and their immediate concern will be the pressure they find themselves being put under by fourth-place Valencia. Just one point currently separates the two sides, and while Zinedine Zidane’s men will be hoping not to exert themselves too much before Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, they also can’t afford any more domestic slip-ups.
On paper, Madrid should be favourites to leave with all three points, but they’re taking on a Getafe side that have thoroughly impressed this campaign and remain in contention for a place in next season’s Europa League. Over their last eight LaLiga games, only Villarreal have got the better of the side who finished third in the second tier last season, and they no doubt head into today’s big clash full of confidence.
It proved to be a tight affair the last time these two sides met, and that could be the case again this evening. Madrid only just managed to get the better of Getafe thanks to a late Cristiano Ronaldo winner, and despite the fact that they’ve won each of the previous eight meetings between the two teams, it looks as if it’s going to be a slightly nervy encounter for the reigning LaLiga champions.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Getafe substitutes: Leandro Cabrera, Gaku Shibasaki, Francisco Molinero, Jorge Molina, Dani Pacheco, Filip Manojlovic, Merveil Ndockyt.
Getafe XI (4-2-3-1): Emiliano Martinez; Damian Suarez, Djene Dakonam, Bruno Gonzalez, Antunes; Sergio Mora, Mauro Arambarri; Francisco Portillo, Faycal Fajr, Loic Remy; Angel Rodriguez.
Real Madrid substitutes: Kiko Casilla, Marcelo, Mateo Kovacic, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, Borja Mayoral.
Real Madrid XI (4-3-3): Keylor Navas; Dani Carvajal, Nacho, Sergio Ramos, Theo Hernandez; Marcos Llorente, Casemiro, Isco; Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Zinedine Zidane has decided to make five changes to the Madrid side that lost against Espanyol, with Carvajal, Theo, Casemiro, Benzema and Ronaldo coming into the starting line-up to replace Achraf Hakimi, Raphael Varane, Kovacic, Vazquez and Asensio, respectively. Ronaldo is now just one more goal away from grabbing his 300th in LaLiga.
Meanwhile, Getafe boss Jose Bordalas has made just two alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with Amath Ndiaye and Molina making way for Fajr and Remy.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: REAL MADRID 2-0 GETAFE
So far, so good for Madrid, who are cruising to three much-needed points. They've certainly been the better of the two sides so far, with Getafe really struggling to get into the game. The visitors have impressed defensively on several occasions, but with a two-goal deficit to now overturn, it's looking increasing likely that they're going to have to head back to the southern suburbs empty-handed.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: REAL MADRID 3-1 GETAFE
Madrid were given a slight scare in the second half when 10-man Getafe pulled a goal back from the spot, but, in the end, it was a relatively comfortable evening for Zidane's men. They desperately needed to get back to winning ways after the shock defeat to Espanyol, and that's exactly what they were able to do tonight. It's set them up nicely for Tuesday's huge Champions League tie away to Paris Saint-Germain.
