35'
Diego Simeone seems to have made a tactical shift in-game, telling his side to switch to a back three, which is certainly unusual for a side coached by Simeone, who is known for his usage of a 4-4-2 system.
33'
Dani Gimenez has taken a seat on the field and is massaging his thigh vigorously. He seems to have done some damage to his leg after a miskick - but he has risen to his feet and is urging the bench to give him some time. There is no substitution yet, however, the back-up goalkeeper is being put through his paces on the sideline.

Atleti get the match underway!
Atleti’s small squad will be even more limited today as Filipe Luis remains sidelined with a broken shinbone and Diego Costa is struggling for fitness due to a hamstring issue. Diego Simeone will have to be resourceful if the home side are to beat an in-form Real Betis.
Los Verdiblancos have won six matches on the bounce, and seven of their last 10. Quique Setien has his side in incredible form, with the Andalusian side sitting in fifth place, a full four points ahead of Villarreal in sixth.
Marc Bartra has been unbelievable since returning to Spain in January after his stint at Borussia Dortmund. Since his transfer, Betis have won nine times in 12, conceding just nine goals in that time. He has been an influential factor for the side who own the worst defensive record in the top 10 - due primarily to a rough start to the campaign.
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, the team news has been confirmed! Let’s begin with the home side...
Atletico Madrid Substitutes: Axel Werner, Diego Godin, Sime Vrsaljko, Koke, Roberto Olabe, Antoine Griezmann, Kevin Gameiro.
Atletico Madrid Starting XI (4-4-2): Jan Oblak; Lucas Hernandez, Jose Maria Gimenez, Stefan Savic, Juanfran; Saul Niguez, Gabi, Thomas Partey, Vitolo; Angel Correa, Fernando Torres.
Real Betis Starting XI (3-4-3): Dani Gimenez; Aissa Mandi, Marc Bartra, Jordi Amat; Antonio Barragan, Fabian Ruiz, Javi Garcia, Junior Firpo; Ryad Boudebouz, Loren Moron, Cristian Tello.
Real Betis Substitutes: Pedro Lopez, Riza Durmisi, Victor Camarasa, Joaquin, Joel Campbell, Antonio Sanabria, Ruben Castro.
Quique Setien sets his team up in a 3-4-3 formation and makes three changes from the side who stole victory at the death against Las Palmas in the 94th minute. Joaquin makes way for Javi Garcia in central midfield, while Cristian Tello takes over from Andres Guardado on the wing. The third change is in attack as Loren Moron replaces Sergio Leon who is suspended for today.
Diego Simeone keeps his favoured 4-4-2 formation but makes five changes from the side that lost 3-0 to Sociedad midweek. Sime Vrsaljko drops out of the side in favour of Lucas Hernandez, while Jose Maria Gimenez’s start relegates Diego Godin to the bench. In midfield, Koke is replaced by Gabi who captains the side, and Vitolo replaces Kevin Gameiro. In attack, Fernando Torres will play instead of Antoine Griezmann and partner Angel Correa.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of the LaLiga fixture between Atletico Madrid and Real Betis from the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
Atletico Madrid sit second in LaLiga, three points ahead of cross-town rivals Real Madrid with only five matches left in the season. A 3-0 defeat on Thursday at Anoeta against Real Sociedad was their first domestic defeat in a month - since a 2-1 loss away at Villarreal on March 18.
HALF-TIME: Atletico Madrid 0-0 Real Betis.
Betis have dominated large periods of the match, but they have not been able to consistently challenge Jan Oblak. Barragan has gotten free a number of times on the right, but the final ball has always lacked quality.
There is still all to play for in the second period, with either side able to win all three points. Substitutions will no doubt play a large part later on - an area which Setien is at a disadvantage due to an enforced goalkeeper change towards the end of the first half.
Atletico Madrid have not had a large impact on this match in attack, with Fernando Torres’ chance being the best of the half for the home side. It has been a typical performance by a Simeone team as they have relied on sitting back and allowing Betis to play in their typical possession style.
FULL-TIME: Atletico Madrid 0-0 Real Betis.
Betis thoroughly controlled the flow of the match, but Quique Setien’s side were unable to find a breakthrough despite their dominance of possession. Diego Simeone’s trademark defensive unit held firm today - despite great shows of creativity from the away team’s midfield - and earned a well-deserved point.
That concludes our coverage of the LaLiga fixture between Atletico Madrid and Real Betis. Thank you for following along and we hope to see you again soon!
Next up for Atletico Madrid is a trip to London to play Arsenal in the Europa League semi-final before a return to Spain to face Deportivo Alaves a week from today. Betis are not in action until next Monday, when they will play already-relegated Malaga.
Betis escaped disaster despite being forced to field an inexperienced goalkeeper for more than half of the match. The defence did well to protect their young shot-stopper, with a Saul effort that crashed off the closest Atleti came to scoring. The Verdiblancos midfield played fantastically well, but Loren Moron did not help his side by getting into many areas of genuine danger.
