We're underway at the John Smith's Stadium.
Jonas Lossl made a brilliant save to deny Andreas Christensen late in the game, while there were numbers defenders putting their bodies on the line to ensure that the Terriers got their point. David Wagner's men can now relax this afternoon and play with freedom, knowing that they will have secured back-to-back seasons in the Premier League.
Huddersfield could have been under pressure coming into today's fixture, but they managed to achieve their survival with back-to-back heroic draws against Manchester City and Chelsea on the road. Their performance at Stamford Bridge was a fine rearguard action as the Blues threw everything at them in the closing stages of the contest.
It has all come to a head this term following the club's fifth-place finish in the Premier League last term, missing out on the Champions League for the first time in 19 seasons. There was hope that Wenger's game could be the Europa League final where Arsenal could play for a Champions League place. However, their defeat to Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals has ended that prospect so Wenger will sign off this afternoon in Huddersfield. As we all expected...
Wenger played an integral part in the Gunners' move away from Highbury and into the Emirates Stadium, which restricted his budget at times. As a result, he lost key members of his team as Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie all left the club at their peaks. Arsenal lost their ability to compete at the top, with numerous failed title bids and premature exits in the Champions League.
Wenger came extremely close to success on the continent when Arsenal reached the final of the Champions League in 2006 where they faced Barcelona. The odds were stacked against them after Jens Lehmann was dismissed in the 18th minute. However, Sol Campbell put the Gunners ahead before half-time. They held out until Samuel Eto'o levelled the scores 14 minutes from time before Juliano Belletti fired home a winner for the Catalan club in the 86th minute, denying Arsenal the crown.
After 22 years Arsene Wenger will manage his final game for Arsenal this afternoon. The Frenchman has been a legend of the club, winning three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his tenure. It hasn't always been a smooth ride in the views of Gunners' fans in recent seasons, but he deserves a brilliant send off for his years of service and the success he brought to the team.
Good afternoon and welcome to the final day Premier League clash between Huddersfield and Arsenal at the John Smith's Stadium.
Let's have a look at Wenger's final team selection as Arsenal manager, although we'll begin with the home side.
None more so than the 'Invincibles' campaign of the 2003-04 season. That squad remains the only side to have remained unbeaten in Premier League history on their way to winning the title. It could be a record that stands for a very long time as Manchester City can attest to the difficulties of a flawless term.
HUDDERSFIELD (5-3-2): Jonas Lossl; Florent Hadergjonaj, Mathias Jorgensen, Christopher Schindler, Terence Kongolo, Chris Lowe; Aaron Mooy, Jonathan Hogg, Thomas Ince; Steven Mounie, Alex Pritchard.
Huddersfield subs: Tommy Smith, Philip Billing, Dean Whitehead, Abdelhamid Sabiri, Joel Coleman, Laurent Depoitre, Jon Gorenc Stankovic.
ARSENAL (4-3-3): David Ospina; Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding, Shkodran Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac; Alex Iwobi, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey; Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal subs: Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal, Danny Welbeck, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matt Macey, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock.
Wenger has made four changes to his side that was beaten during the week by Leicester. Ospina comes into the side between the sticks, while Bellerin, Mustafi and Lacazette all get the nod to start.
One item that Wenger will be keen to put to bed will be Arsenal's form on the road since the start of 2018. They've failed to take a point on their travels since the turn of the year, losing seven matches on the spin. The Frenchman will be eager to eradicate the record before he heads into the sunset.
FLASHBACK! Arsenal hammered Huddersfield 5-0 in the clash between the two sides at the Emirates Stadium in November. Olivier Giroud scored a brace, while Mesut Ozil, Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez were also on the scoresheet.
Wagner brings four players back into the fold this afternoon. Ince returns from injury to start, while Hadergjonaj, Pritchard and Mounie come into the side from the 1-1 draw against Chelsea. Whitehead, who retires after today, starts on the bench.
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 0-1 ARSENAL
Arsenal are half way there to sending Arsene Wenger off with a win in his final game. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang notched his 10th goal since joining the Gunners in January with a sliding finish at the back post to convert Aaron Ramsey's cross. Huddersfield missed early opportunities as Steve Mounie headed straight at David Ospina, while Thomas Ince fired over the bar. However, the visitors gradually took control of the contest and deserved to be ahead at the interval.
FULL-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 0-1 ARSENAL
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
After 1,235 matches as Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger ends his tenure with the Gunners. He signs off with a victory as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's strike decided the contest this afternoon. The Frenchman can look back at his time with the club with pride as he heads off into the sunset. Whoever replaces him in the dugout will have a huge challenge ahead of them, starting next season. Huddersfield were decent in their final outing of the term, although they lacked the clinical edge to get a positive result out of the contest. The key objective for the Terriers over the summer will be to retain the services of David Wagner as they aim to build on their survival.
