United saw off rivals Liverpool with a 3-2 win in the fourth round. They come into this game having lost just one of their last nine in all competitions (W5 D3), and did beat today's opponents 3-1 in the Premier League earlier this season. As for West Ham, they cruised past Doncaster Rovers with a 4-0 win last time out in the competition and also come into today on a good run, losing just one of their last 11 fixtures (W7 D3).
Solskjaer will be pleased with his side's performance so far, but they need to make a big improvement in front of goal after the break if they want to get something out of this match. As for West Ham, they struggled to get out of their half at times and Moyes will want them to get on the front foot more in the second half and create some chances.
It's goalless at the end of 90 minutes and United and West Ham are going to extra-time. United created the best chances of the game with Fabianski being forced into two good saves, one from Lindelof in the first half and a second for Rashford after the break. West Ham improved in the second half with their only chance coming in stoppage time when Dawson flicked a header on from a corner that was blocked.
Both managers will want to see a much brighter performance in extra-time as neither will want to go to a penalty shoot-out. West Ham haven't tested Henderson at all which Moyes will want to change, but they've been good at the back to shut out United and Solskjaer will want them to be more clinical.
United finally break the deadlock to lead 1-0 at half-time in extra-time. The goal was the only chance in the half for United and it came from West Ham failing to clear their lines. Rashford reacts quickest to get onto the loose ball and he touches it into McTominay's path for him to drill it first-time into the bottom corner.
That's all for today, goodbye!
United are through to the quarter-final of the competition, but they'll have to wait until Thursday to find out who they'll face in the next round. Next up for them is West Brom on Sunday. West Ham are out of the FA Cup and their focus can now turn back to the league and their match against Sheffield United.
