We're under way at Elland Road.
Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League match between Leeds United and West Ham United at Elland Road.
Leeds produced a solid peformance last time out against Newcatle to secure a draw at St James' Park, halting a poor defensive run. The Whites had conceded at least three goals in their previous three Premier League games, resulting in two defeats at the hands of Tottenham and Manchester City along with their dramatic win over Bournemouth. Jesse Marsch's men are embroiled in the tight battle at the bottom, but a result tonight could provide security and heighten West Ham's woes.
West Ham announced the sad news of the death of co-owner David Gold earlier on Wednesday following a short illness. The Hammers will be desperate to put in a performance that Gold would be proud of tonight and they need it after losing their last five Premier League matches. Pressure is starting to grow on David Moyes as the club are only outside the bottom three on goal difference. West Ham were poor last time out against Brentford, losing 2-0 on home soil. Moyes needs an effort from his team tonight.
LEEDS UNITED SUBS: Junior Firpo, Jack Harrison, Diego Llorente, Darko Gyabi, Joel Robles, Rasmus Kristensen, Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Mateusz Klich.
WEST HAM UNITED (4-2-3-1): Lukasz Fabianski; Vladimir Coufal, Craig Dawson, Thilo Kehrer, Nayef Aguerd; Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice; Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Pablo Fornals; Gianluca Scamacca.
WEST HAM UNITED SUBS: Ben Johnson, Aaron Cresswell, Michail Antonio, Manuel Lanzini, Flynn Downes, Alphonse Areola, Angelo Ogbonna, Said Benrahma, Emerson.
LEEDS UNITED (4-2-3-1): Illan Meslier; Luke Ayling, Robin Koch, Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk; Marc Roca, Tyler Adams; Brendon Aaronson, Crysencio Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto; Rodrigo Moreno.
Jesse Marsch will be a bit frustrated with his side as they had control of the contest entering the final five minutes of the half. However, they were unable to ride out a little spell of pressure and have allowed the Hammers back into the contest. The work starts against for the Whites in the second half.
Both sides are in FA Cup action at the weekend. Leeds are on the road to Cardiff City on Sunday, while West Ham face Brentford away on Saturday.
Thanks for joining our commentary today. Until next time, goodbye.
