REMARKABLE! Jakupovic flies through the air to somehow get a hand to Pogba's curling effort from the top of the area! It's the night of his life! He will be the star of United's nightmares tonight!
90' +4
SAVED AGAIN! This was a harder chance for Rojo, who needed to generate a lot of power behind his header from that position, but it's a fine save from Jakupovic nonetheless, as he gets across to pluck it out of the air! Though the acrobatics were for the cameras more than anything.
90' +3
Jakupovic has been absolutely sensational tonight. Ibrahimovic produces another delightful flick to cause panic in the Hull area, but the keeper commands his box so well, coming off his line to parry, all the while knowing he's going to get battered.
90' +1
There will be five minutes added on at the end of this match.
90'
NOT QUITE! Nearly some late drama again as Hernandez finds himself clean through on goal from the halfway line! A poor touch higher up the pitch allows Blind to get back goalside, and the Hull substitute ends up rolling a feeble effort straight into the arms of De Gea!
89'
D. Meyler gets yellow.
Meyler sees yellow for a foul, as the bookings continue to pile up.
88'
Stoppage time must be accumulating here as the stoppages become rather tedious. It's really taken the sting out of the match, but there's a clear aura of desperation about United here as we enter the final minutes of the 90.
86'
DESPERATELY UNLUCKY!! Huddlestone with a stunning pass to pick out Markovic in the area. Markovic gives De Gea the eyes, before sending a brilliantly disguised shot towards the near top corner, but it rattles off the inside of the post with the keeper rooted to his spot, and somehow stays out! A half-inch to the right and that's in!
84'
W. Rooney gets yellow.
Rooney shouts at the referee for a penalty as Herrera's shot is blocked by Maguire, off a deflection, but it came nowhere near the arm of the centre-half. And for his troubles, Rooney goes into the book.
Minute
Description
83'
STAT: Hull City have already faced 10 penalties in the Premier League this season – one away from the record in a single PL campaign; 11 by Blackburn Rovers in 2006-07.
81'
L. Marković gets yellow.
Markovic is booked as well here, for a cynical tug of the back of Pogba's shirt.
80'
Penalty appeals denied and it's a spot on decision from the referee as Ibrahimovic was actually the one who looked to foul Huddlestone there. Mourinho is off in a fit on the touchline, but he should calm right down when he sees that replay.
79'
S. Clucas gets yellow.
Clucas becomes the second player booked on the night, this for a foul on Rooney.
78'
Possession is being bossed here by the hosts, but they're unable to find a way through on the ground. They've looked threatening with the ball in the air, but otherwise it's all been rather pedestrian from United in the final third.
76'
Frustration building at about the same rate as pressure on the Hull goal. It's all reaching a boiling point here as United up the urgency, going in an all-out pursuit of the goal they so desperately crave.
74'
UNBELIEVABLE SAVE! Well would you believe it! Remember this comment, because you will see that on highlight tapes for the next five months! Ibrahimovic meets a corner at the far post and heads back across for Mata, who appears to have the net gaping for him, but Jakupovic somehow gets across and puts a foot to it to keep it off the line! Just stunning!
72'
O. Elabdellaoui enters the game and replaces Evandro.
Hull's final change sees Omar Elabdellaoui replace Evandro, who is struggling with a knock.
71'
STAT: Manchester United have already attempted more shots on target in their 11 league games at Old Trafford this season (77) than they did in the whole of last season at home (75).
69'
A. Hernández enters the game and replaces O. Niasse.
United will wait even longer to take the corner now as Hull make their second change, with Niasse, who should already be off, replaced by Abel Hernandez. These United fans are growing restless.
68'
After a sticky spell from United, they break quickly and win a free-kick through Rashford, but they're made to wait to take it as Evando goes down behind the play with what appears to be a cramp, which infuriates the home supporters.
66'
A. Ranocchia enters the game and replaces J. Tymon.
Marco Silva makes his first change here, the first change of which sees new recruit Andrea Ranocchia come on for his Hull City and Premier League debut. Tymon is the one replaced. This will likely see Hull revert to a back three, with Meyler and Robertson pushing forward a bit.
64'
Boos echo around Old Trafford as Niasse slides very late into a challenge in the United area, but once again escapes a second booking! He's playing a very dangerous game, and it has to be said, he could have been sent off twice already tonight.
62'
Mata enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
United's second change sees Juan Mata enter the fray, with Mkhitaryan replaced.
60'
WIDE! Another ball over the top catches Hull napping, as it springs Valencia down the right. The full-back crosses for Rashford, who knocks a header down into the vicinity of Rooney and Ibrahimovic. Between the pair of them, you almost expected to see the net bulge, but Rooney misses his attempt before Ibrahimovic bounces a half-volley wide of the near post!
59'
Ambitious attempt there from Herrera, whose deflected effort from 30 yards is collected easily by Jakupovic. United are struggling a bit to carve out a chance at the end of these long spells in possession. All their danger is coming from these long balls forward from the back.
57'
NEARLY THERE! Splendid control from Rashford to bring down that ball over the top, but just as he does the hard part, he scuffs his final shot from in close as it slowly rolls agonisingly wide of the far post!
55'
C. Smalling enters the game and replaces P. Jones.
Phil Jones has suffered what looks like a hamstring injury, and is set to be replaced here by Chris Smalling.
54'
HE'LL WANT THAT ONE BACK! Pogba floats a tidy ball over the top and Ibrahimovic finds himself behind the defence. The striker just can't take it down properly, though it was a very awkward one coming across his back shoulder, but being no stranger to the spectacular, he will have wanted to do better there.
52'
Great stuff from Rojo! Robertson threads a terrific ball through the heart of the defence to play Niasse forward. The striker lays it off for Markovic, who cuts inside from about 12 yards out, but Rojo sticks a foot in to dispossess him at the vital moment!
50'
STAT: Wayne Rooney has scored seven goals and has assisted four more in his previous seven Premier League appearances against Hull City – this includes four goals in one game (Jan 2010).
48'
Robertson does very well on the overlap to take on Valencia and win a free-kick on the edge of the area. This has been a positive start to the second half from the Tigers. Meanwhile, there's still no word on why Carrick was replaced. Perhaps it was tactical, though there was nothing in that first half to warrant a switch.
46'
W. Rooney enters the game and replaces M. Carrick.
Wayne Rooney replaces Carrick at the interval, and surely this has to be down to an injury. Carrick was excellent in that first half.
Back underway at Old Trafford!
45' +3
HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 HULL CITY.
45' +2
A lovely run by Maguire sees him win a free-kick in an advanced position for the visitors, following a foul from Pogba, but the subsequent delivery is dealt with accordingly by United, who are then thwarted themselves on the break.
45'
There fourth official has indicated there will be a minimum of three added minutes.
43'
Into the final minutes of the first half and it's looking increasingly like we will head into the break scoreless. Some sound running from Markovic on the flank sees him win a corner for the Tigers, but a rather tame Maguire header from the resulting set-piece is collected by De Gea with ease.
41'
WONDERFUL STOP! Stunning ball forward from Carrick to pick out Ibrahimovic, who plays Pogba clean through on goal with an exquisite back-heel. Pogba only has the keeper to beat, but Jakupovic thwarts him brilliantly at the near post!
39'
STAT: Since the start of 2012-13, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has had a hand in 168 goals in 143 league appearances (127 goals, 41 assists) - though he hasn't scored in two appearances against Hull City.
37'
OUCH! Carrick's follow-through catches Tymon in the groin and that's got to be a painful one for the teenage left-back, who goes down straight away. He's likely winded, nothing more, but there's definitely a collective understanding from these players as to what sort of temporary pain he's in.
35'
NOT ENOUGH ON IT! Meyler's slip allows Rashford to win a header, which he uses to pick out Pogba. The midfielder subsequently lays it off for Ibrahimovic, but his left-footed strike lacks the pace to really trouble Jakupovic, who gets down to his left to make the save.
33'
HAD TO BE BETTER! Mkhitaryan slides in with a delightful challenge to win possession back for his side, which Herrera picks up and breaks forward on the counter. He has both Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan making runs off the ball, and has to find a way to play one of them through, but sees his final pass intercepted by Huddlestone!
31'
The tempo has fizzled out a bit over the last five minutes, with possession contained largely in what is now a congested midfield. Hull are enjoying the occasional foray into attack, but their end product has been shockingly poor.
29'
STAT: The Red Devils are in the midst of their longest unbeaten run in the Premier League (13 games) since March 2013; an 18-game run under Sir Alex Ferguson.
27'
LUCKY BOY! Niasse glances in the direction of the referee with a look of guilt after lunging into a 50-50 challenge with Carrick, but catching the midfielder's shin with a high boot. There's no doubt about the danger of the tackle from the striker, who's already on a yellow, but he escapes without a second!
25'
Carrick is pulling the strings for United in possession, spraying some excellent balls forward from a deep-lying role. He's proving an excellent link between defence and attack, though the first touch of some of these United players has let them down.
23'
Hull have temporarily weathered the storm as they enjoy a decent spell in possession. It's all very contemplative from the Tigers in attack, however, as they keep it well without really offering any threat on the United goal.
21'
United are looking increasingly menacing as pressure continues to mount on the Hull goal. They're inching closer and closer to a breakthrough, but some vital last-ditch defending from Hull, Robertson especially, has proven enough to keep them out so far.
19'
Manchester United have won more Premier League games on a Wednesday than any other team (63), while they also have the best points per game record on a Wednesday of all current Premier League teams (2.17).
17'
Valencia gets on the end of a clever one-two on the right and floats in a delivery which is headed clear, but only as far as Blind. It sits up nicely for him on the volley, but the Dutchman's attempt sails over the bar. It was a decent strike in the end, but just needed a bit more control.
15'
CLOSE! Lovely little hit there from Ibrahimovic, who cuts across on his right and wraps his foot around the ball superbly, but bends his effort just beyond the far post. Jakupovic covered a lot of distance with his dive, however, and looked like he may have had it covered had it been on target.
13'
O. Niasse gets yellow.
Niasse picks up an early booking high up the pitch for a foul on Rojo.
11'
Hull are looking sharp in the opening stages. Possession stats aren't in their favour, but they're putting in some good work all over the pitch, especially in midfield, as they continue to make like difficult on United in their attempts to break into the final third.
9'
STAT: Hull City have picked up just one point in nine Premier League meetings with Manchester United (W0 D1 L8).
7'
INCHES WIDE! In the end it wouldn't have counted anyhow, as the referee blew for a foul, but United play with fire as their high line defending a free-kick nearly costs them dearly, as Maguire lunges in with a header that drifts just beyond the far stick, with De Gea rooted to his spot.
5'
A naughty display here from Ibrahimovic who rather needlessly shoves Maguire to ground, sending the centre-half head-first into the feet of Jakupovic. It's a nasty collision that looked dangerous for the defender, but thankfuly he props right back up to his feet. Ibrahimovic escapes with merely a talking to.
3'
VITAL TACKLE! Carrick dinks a delightful ball over the top to play in Mkhitaryan, who got goalside of a sleeping Robertson, but the full-back recovers splendidly to lunge in and knock the ball free, saving what looked a sure goal for United!
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! United get us underway in their red home strip, attacking left to right, with Hull in their black and amber stripes.
Hello and welcome to live coverage from Old Trafford as Manchester United aim to close the gap on the top-four when they host a Hull City side hoping to pull out of the Premier League cellar.
Jose Mourinho’s side had Tuesday off, but it was an all-around great day as all the teams above them in action dropped points. The Red Devils can move to within two points of fourth with a win tonight.
United were as low as eighth place at the end of October, and a distant nine-points back of fourth at the start of December. Now, in the midst of a 13-match unbeaten run, the Champions League is in touching distance – and their next nine games are against teams below them in the table.
Hull City are trending in a troublesome direction and they’re doing so in an ungainly manner. Sunderland’s draw yesterday dropped the Tigers into last place in the Premier League – and they need an unlikely result tonight to change that.
To make matters worse for Hull, they start the post-Robert Snodgrass era tonight after selling their best player and leading scorer to West Ham. Excluding Snodgrass’ goals, they’ve scored just 13 times in 22 matches. Yikes.
STAT: No player has as many goals (7), has many assists (3), has created as many chances (45) and has had as many shots (39) for Hull City in the Premier League this season than Robert Snodgrass.
MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-3): De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Blind; Herrera, Carrick, Pogba; Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Ibrahimovic.
Four changes as well from Marco Silva from their 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge. At 17-years-old, left-back Josh Tymon makes his third league appearance of the season, at the expense of Curtis Davies. David Meyler replaces injured Ryan Mason in midfield, while Lazar Markovic makes his Premier League debut for the tigers in place of Omar Elabdellaoui. Oumar Niasse leads the line ahead of Abel Hernandez.
Nothing to separate the two sides after 45 minutes, with Eldin Jakupovic denying Paul Pogba with the best chance of the first half. United have certainly enjoyed the better of play, but unlike in their last league match against Chelsea, Hull have something of a reward for their strong first-half showing, having denied the hosts a breakthrough.
Jose Mourinho makes three changes from the 1-1 draw at Stoke nearly a fortnight ago. Marcos Rojo is brought into defence at the expense of Chris Smalling, while Eric Bailly is left out of the side despite being deemed fit. Michael Carrick comes into midfield and Marcus Rashford joins the attacking trident, with Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata giving way.
Opportunity missed for Manchester United as they fail to gain ground on the top-four, while a heroic performance from Eldin Jakupovic drags Hull City off the bottom of the Premier League.
That's all for our live coverage from Old Trafford, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
